Unfortunately the internal environment of The Highwayman inn doesn't lend itself well to having children around. Children over the age of 12 are welcome to stay with their parents whilst the younger fraternity may have a look around inside whilst accompanied but must remain in the 'Old Woman who lived in a shoe' play area if their parents wish to stay awhile.

Bruce is a demon in the kitchen and aims to offer a wholesome range of light snacks including a various of pasties ('Oggies') and a wide range of Highwayman Platters to suit all tastes. The food is locally supplied and much of it is Organic.

Residents can enjoy more exotic fayre in the evenings which can be tailor made to suit your own palette again using fresh local produce.

Full English Breakfast is served to guests that are tarrying a while longer.

We have a range of ales and lagers, wines and spirits. We also occasionally stock organic or bio dynamic guest wines etc but if you fancy something a little different why don't you try our award winning local Cider (True Scrumpy at it's best - Ed.)

We have also introduced a range of wines from vines grown in accordance with the lunar cycle. These really are quite exceptional wines.

Throughout the year we look at celebrating unusual, natural, traditional and historical events in a variety of ways, ranging from plays and music to wishing trees and mysticism. Often these events involve previous visitors who return to take part or guests and friends.

We can now offer to host your wedding ceremony* at the Highwayman. Successful Humanist and Pagan ceremonies have already been catered for. We will be happy to discuss your requirements.

For return guests looking for something a little more 'Private and Personal', across the road, facing 'The Highwayman' and lying right on the edge of Dartmoor, is 'Cobweb Hall'.

Continuing the themes from the Highwayman, this beautiful cottage has 2 double en-suite rooms, dual sweeping staircase and large open fires.
